Throwback to the "Days of the National Institute of Public Health"

On February 20 and 21, the Institutul Național de Sănătate Publică (INSP) hosted the national conference “Days of the National Institute of Public Health”, held in Bucharest, Romania.
During this event, Raluca Gatej presented INSP’s work on “Bioinformatics in Public Health: Application of Genomic Data Analysis for Infectious Disease Control“. Authors also included Ciprian Ilie, Adina Gatea, Mihaela Leustean, and Teodora Vremera.
This presentation enabled to highlight the PANDOMIC project and its latest findings.
Indeed, the PANDOMIC project focuses on leveraging genomic data to enhance public health (PH) strategies for prevention and better control of infectious diseases. Analyzing genetic information is an efficient surveillance method for optimized PH measures in order to understand pathogen evolution, transmission, and resistance patterns.
Special thanks to the INSP team for fostering meaningful discussions for Romania’s health future.
