PANDOMIC Advances Genomic Surveillance at Romanian National Conference

18 November 2025

From 8 to 11 October 2025, members of the PANDOMIC consortium took part in the 16th National Conference of the Romanian Association of Laboratory Medicine and the 32nd Meeting of the Federation of Balkan Clinical Laboratories, held in Sinaia, Romania.

Representatives from the Cantacuzino National Military Medical Institute for Research and Development (IC) presented the study “The benefits of introducing an integrative genomic analysis: surveillance of autochthonous Salmonella Enteritidis from the One Health perspective.”

The presentation illustrated how genomic sequencing strengthens the surveillance and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), offering insights into the spread of Salmonella Enteritidis across humans, animals, and food sources. Applying a One Health perspective, the study demonstrated how genomic data can enhance public health preparedness and inform more effective responses to infectious disease threats.

This participation reflects the PANDOMIC consortium’s commitment to advancing genomic surveillance, data-driven collaboration, and pandemic preparedness across Europe. By combining expertise from Luxembourg and Romania, PANDOMIC continues to foster innovation, resilience, and cross-border cooperation to protect public health.
