Work Packages

Representing the building blocks of PANDOMIC, the project is organized into 8 work packages (WP). Each WP is dedicated to a specific aspect of the project.

  • WP1

    Project Management & Coordination

The objective of WP1 is the overall coordination of the project and its activities, ensuring the timely delivery of the project results, through effective administrative and financial management, as well as collaboration and communication among consortium partners and the European Commission.

  • WP2

    Project Evaluation and Monitoring

The objective of WP2 is to continuously monitor and evaluate the process, output and outcome of the project in function of the project objectives and actions as described in the different work packages through a project evaluation plan. Thus, assessing and optimizing project progress.

  • WP3

    Project Sustainability

The objective of WP3 is to develop and implement a sustainability plan, aiming to foster sustainability in the different tasks and actions of the project by identifying required resources to maintain the project activities, foresee potential networks between partners and stakeholders, in order to reach the project specific objectives, with long-term benefits for society, environment and economy.

  • WP4

    Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication

The objective of WP4 lies in ensuring effective communication throughout the project to increase the visibility and impact of its activities and outcomes in the public domain. The communication activities also aim at raising awareness on the importance of pandemic preparedness for future challenges through the engagement of all the relevant stakeholders.

  • WP5

Expansion of National Genomic Surveillance for Acute Respiratory Infection

The objective of WP5 is to expand the genomic surveillance program to COVID-19 and respiratory viruses, with focus on RSV by implementing, optimizing and validating WGS protocols using different technologies. Additionally digital PCR protocols will be developed, implemented and harmonized as a quantitative respiratory virus assay.

  • WP6

Antimicrobial Resistance Genomic Mapping in One Health Setting

The objective of WP6 is to implement a comprehensive antimicrobial resistance genomic mapping in a One Health setting, Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in food-borne pathogens combining different sequencing technologies for early detection of high-risk clones carrying multi-drug resistance transferable genes that can be extended in the food chain.

  • WP7

Data Management, ā€“ Analysis and Sample Repository Management

The objective of WP7 is to develop, standardize and automate processes to facilitate data sharing with national and international stakeholders by building a data and sample collection management architecture and system ā€“ in accordance with the Data Protection regulation. Additional, bio informatics hub will be developed for improved data analysis.

  • WP8

Establishment of National Public Health Microbiology Laboratory Roadmap for Pandemic Preparedness

The objective of WP8 is to share the acquired knowledge and transform the evidence into recommendations to public health laboratory response for national pandemic preparedness plans. Another important aspect is the creation and consolidation of public health microbiology laboratory networks to continue to exchange and share knowledge.
